An Outback Camera Date begins with an introduction to general photography theory and how cameras work. But its not long then our cameras are out and I explain the key settings, what they do, how to change them and when to apply different settings. You will learn about: RAW, ISO, shutter speed, aperture, white balance, which lenses to use when and much more along the way. As we learn we apply each setting so it is reinforced during the session. You will learn about creating silhouettes, capturing sunsets, action, portraits and other fun effects.
An Outback Camera Date involves you being up and out and about applying what you learn as we go. I create a relaxed, sharing atmosphere so you get the most out of the Date.

Come on a photographic adventure & spend quality time with your camera. Get to know what the buttons and dials do and how your camera works so you can create the images you want. On the 'Date' you will learn how to photograph out of auto mode and how to change settings for different subjects so you are creatively in control. I guarantee you will have fun and come away knowing your camera much better.
Cost :$145 per head includes tuition, notes and afternoon tea.
Please get in touch for more information or host an Outback Camera Date at your location.
Camera Dates are also available as weekend workshops and have been presented at Yaraka, Quilpie (both in 2016 and 2017 with another planned for 2018) and Winton.

Sample shutter speed images at 'the Seco' Quilpie. Left hand image has shutter speed of 1/2000 to freeze the action whilst the right hand image has shutter speed of 6 seconds, which gives the soft movement effect.
Learn
Learn about how to photograph landscapes, portraits, action and panning, sunsets, silhouettes, stars and sparklers and more. Please get in touch if there is anything specific you wish to learn about.
You need
You need to bring your camera, its full manual (either printed version or a digital copy on a laptop/tablet), lenses, tripod (I have a few so don't worry if you don't have one) and any other equipment you want to get to know.
What happens
Each Camera Date begins indoors with a brief overview of photography in general. Then we get your cameras out and begin changing settings with the buttons and dials. We set off to apply these settings to various subjects outdoors and into the night.
More About the workshop
Workshops are limited to less than 15 so I can help you individually.
Afternoon tea is included. We have a one hour break for dinner and normally go out together for a meal.
One on One
One on one tuition is available for both photography and Adobe Photoshop and Photoshop Elements. Please contact me to discuss your needs.
